ABSTRACT
Workplace spirituality has gained increasing attention among researchers in management. The objective of this research was to verify whether workplace spirituality influences job satisfaction of public sector employees. A survey based on a model created from the scales of workplace spirituality (Liu & Robertson, 2011) and job satisfaction (Siqueira, 2008) was conducted in a Brazilian public organization, and the data analysis was done with Structural Equations Modeling. The results presented satisfactory rates, validating the hypothetical model for predicting the impact of workplace spirituality on job satisfaction. Since what is measured can be improved, such a model can be useful for managers, especially those working in the public sector, to improve the satisfaction of their work force to deliver better services to citizens.
